Couples Work & Relationship Repair

Are you at a point in your relationship, in which you have issues that you cannot solve on your own? Or maybe you are going through a rough patch or recovering from a betrayal, or have pieces of the past that you’ve never truly processed? I am passionate about helping couples to sort through hurt feelings, begin to truly hear one another, and move forward in a way that feels aligned with your values and priorities. My role in therapy is to be a neutral, caring, and insightful witness and guide toward repair and healing. I welcome all couples–queer, hetero, monogamous, ENM, and otherwise. I also work with adult child-parent duos, siblings, and besties in relationship repair, as well as with single folks to reconnect with themselves and find love and purpose in a paired-up world.

IFS Therapy (Parts Work)

When we experience serious life challenges and traumas, these experiences leave imprints on our psyche. Those imprints often revisit us later in the life in the form of different “parts” like an inner critic, a voice of fear, a compulsion toward perfectionism, rage, panic, or hopelessness. These imprints can also appear as physical sensations and even pain or illness. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a groundbreaking form of trauma therapy that allows us to reconnect and soothe these fractured parts of the psyche and invite them into a place of healing and integration. I have been using IFS with clients for many years and have completed Level One IFS training, as well as studied directly with Richard Schwartz, the founder of IFS. I hold complete IFS sessions with clients; these often look like meditative journeys that leave you with new insight, self-compassion, and profound healing.

Life Transitions & Existential Crises

Our lives are made up of big moments and small moments, and moments in which everything is changed in an instant. Breakups, illness, career changes, deaths and births … even pandemics! These are the times in life when we see what we are made of. This human experience is weird, wild, and wonderful, and it does not come with a playbook or instruction manual. Instead, it is up to us to find meaning and purpose in our lives, and to set a firm intention to move forward, despite even the most profound heartbreaks. Together, we will feel, process, grieve, celebrate, problem-solve, perspective-shift, and put the pieces back together so you can make decisions you feel good about, and step back into your life.

Identity Reclaiming & Exploring

Are you questioning your sexuality or gender? Grappling with your religion or ethnicity? Navigating a mixed-race or multi-religion family? Or working through a new diagnosis of ADHD or ASD? The paradox of identity is that it is, at once, the most and least specific thing about us. It’s so important for us to know who we are! It’s also deeply important to see that we, as Walt Whitman once wrote, “hold multitudes”. Our identities are complex, intersecting, colorful, and complex. Allow me to walk with you through your journey of learning who you are and how you want to walk through the world today. My orientation to this work is queer affirming, neurodiversity affirming, and multicultural. I also have particular familiarity with Latinx, Asian, Buddhist, Hindu, and Jewish cultures, and have deep connection to these communities.

Navigating Invisible Illness

Are you fighting a chronic illness all day, but no one else around knows what you are going through? It could be an autoimmune disorder, a digestive disorder, pelvic pain, chronic UTIs, or even withdrawal symptoms from going off a prescribed medication. As someone who has a lived history of surviving several illnesses that were painful, invisible, and often misunderstood by the medical profession, I know what it’s like to navigate this rocky terrain. Reach out, and we can walk this path together. I can support you in your health journey, offer mindfulness tools to deal with chronic pain and discomfort, and help you manage the additional stresses of dealing with the various bureaucracies at play.
